Rotary Mindarie is involved in the worldwide Youth Exchange Program, which empowers the next generation of young leaders to make a difference in their communities and throughout the world.
Participating in the youth exchange program is a gateway to a world of unique experiences. Students can learn a new language, immerse themselves in diverse cultures, develop their leadership skills, and build lifelong friendships with peers from around the globe.
The youth exchange program is designed for students aged 15-19 who demonstrate leadership within their school and community. It offers two options: a long-term exchange, lasting a full academic year with students attending a local school and living with various host families, or a short-term exchange, lasting up to three months outside of school terms and usually taking the form of a camp, tour, or homestay. While room, board and school fees are covered, students are typically responsible for airfare, travel insurance, travel documents, spending money, and any additional travel expenses.
Rotary Mindarie has been involved in the youth exchange program since 2015 and is actively involved in connecting students with opportunities for personal growth through the program. Rotary Mindarie has had students come from Italy, Germany, Finland, Poland, France, Japan, Switzerland, and Taiwan; inbound students bring a diverse perspective to Rotary Mindarie and are often actively involved in community events during their stay. Rotary Mindarie has had students travel to Germany, Finland, Switzerland, and Brazil.
